In the "Secretarial Pavilion" of the celestial palace, the clerk Lord Yuan, taking advantage of the Jade Emperor's visit to the Peacock Pool, breaks open the stone niche and secretly takes down the celestial scriptures to the mortal world. He carves the script of the celestial scriptures onto the stone walls of Baiyun Cave on Yunmeng Mountain. For revealing the celestial secrets, Lord Yuan violates the heavenly laws and is punished by the Jade Emperor to guard the celestial scriptures on the stone walls for life. One day, Lord Yuan rides the clouds to patrol the mountain and encounters Dan Sheng. To pass the celestial scriptures to the human world, he instructs Dan Sheng to wait for the incense burner at the entrance of Baiyun Cave to rise with colorful smoke, take white paper, and down the celestial scriptures from the cave's stone walls. Dan Sheng follows Lord Yuan's instructions to down the celestial scriptures. Lord Yuan then guides Dan Sheng to study diligently and use the celestial scriptures to benefit the people. Dan Sheng studies the celestial scriptures, controls locust plagues, disaster relief, and eliminates evils for the people. The fox spirits, hating Dan Sheng for disrupting their misdeeds, use cunning to steal the celestial scriptures and conspire with the government to continue harming the people. Dan Sheng pursues the celestial scriptures, engaging in multiple magical battles with the fox spirits. When Dan Sheng and the fox spirits fight over the celestial scriptures, Lord Yuan arrives, retrieves the scriptures, and takes out a white stone mirror from his bosom, crushing the fox spirits to death under Yunmeng Mountain. Lord Yuan realizes he cannot escape the heavenly law and hands over the celestial scriptures to Dan Sheng, urging him to memorize the script. Then, Lord Yuan burns the celestial scriptures with divine fire. Instantly, thunder and lightning clash, and the Jade Emperor's decree arrives, capturing Lord Yuan and returning him to the celestial palace for judgment.
