Features:
1. The primary readers of this dictionary are elementary and middle school students as well as Chinese language teachers. Undergraduate students in liberal arts at institutions of higher learning and Chinese language workers can also use this dictionary as a reference.
2. This dictionary includes 3,085 common words, organized into 982 groups, with 2 to 8 different words for analysis in each group. The concentrated comparative analysis of a large number of words is a prominent feature of this dictionary.
3. The synonyms and antonyms selected for this dictionary are mainly disyllabic words, supplemented by some monosyllabic words and idioms. The synonyms selected include a group of words with similar meanings, while the antonyms selected are words with opposite or contrasting meanings.
4. For each entry in this dictionary, the meaning of the word is first explained with examples. Then, a comparative analysis of synonyms is provided, highlighting their differences in meaning, connotation, or usage. Finally, a brief explanation is given for words with antonymic relationships.
5. The pronunciation of words in this dictionary is revised based on the "Judgment and Standardization of Different Readings of Chinese Characters." Old pronunciations and dialectal pronunciations are not used. The grammatical terms used in this dictionary are basically based on the "Outline of the Middle School Teaching Grammar System."
6. The examples of words in this dictionary are represented by "~," and examples are separated by "|." For easy distinction, different fonts are used for printing: explanations are in Song typeface, comparative analysis of synonyms is in FangSong typeface, and explanations of antonymic relationships are in Kai typeface.
7. The entries in this dictionary are arranged in alphabetical order, and an "Index of Words" is provided for readers to search.
