Features: Extensive experiments and theoretical analyses have shown that the fundamental assumption in modern physics that "vacuum is a void of nothingness" is an incorrect assumption. It must be replaced with the new theory that "vacuum is a physical reality with certain physical properties and structures." Therefore, a comprehensive review and new formulation of modern physics are necessary. This book treats the vacuum as a dynamic system and summarizes its physical properties into five fundamental principles:
1. The principle of conservation of vacuum charge;
2. The principle of constancy of the speed of light in vacuum;
3. The principle of invariance of the smallest quantum action in vacuum;
4. The principle of conservation of vacuum mass;
5. The principle of gauge invariance in vacuum.
From these five fundamental principles, we derive electrodynamics, relativistic mechanics, quantum mechanics, general relativity, and gauge theory. At the same time, it provides a real particle structure model that elucidates electrodynamics, relativistic mechanics, general relativity, and gauge theory. This model offers a clear physical picture and new physical descriptions for electromagnetic field theory, the propagation of time-varying magnetic waves, the relativistic spacetime view, the wave-particle duality of matter, the origin of gravitational and inertial forces, the existence of antiparticles, the structure of the universe, why gravitational waves cannot propagate in reality, and the interactions of fundamental particles, symmetry breaking, and unified field theory.
The understanding of the physical properties and structures of the vacuum will establish the entire field of physics and natural philosophy on a solid material foundation. It will simplify and rationalize the complex theoretical system of modern physics, resolving and clarifying many self-contradictory and unexplained issues in modern physics. This book provides an initial exploration of the physical properties, structures, and dynamic laws of the vacuum. Many issues still require further theoretical and experimental research.
The book consists of five chapters:
1. The Electrodynamical Properties and Structure of Vacuum
2. The Relativistic Mechanical Properties and Structure of Vacuum
3. The Quantum Mechanical Properties and Structure of Vacuum
4. The General Relativistic Properties and Structure of Vacuum
5. The Gauge Theoretical Properties and Structure of Vacuum
It can serve as a textbook or reference for undergraduate and graduate students in physics, engineering, and philosophy departments. It is also suitable for readers interested in cutting-edge physics and natural philosophy, as well as for professionals as a reference material.
