What kind of calcium should be taken and how much?

Doctor's answer:

A healthy and normal breastfeeding mother contains about 35mg of calcium in every 100ml of milk. Therefore, breastfeeding 1000ml of milk may cause the mother's body to lose approximately 300-400mg of calcium. Breastfeeding for 6 months completely may consume about 4-6% of the calcium in the mother's bones. It is recommended that you supplement through diet, as this is safer for the child. During the peak milk production period, digesting 2g of calcium and an equivalent amount of vitamin D daily is beneficial. Foods high in calcium and vitamin D include milk, soy products, poultry eggs, fish, shrimp, seafood, bone broth, etc. It is advisable to consume less food that aids calcium metabolism, such as spinach and bamboo shoots. Exposing the skin to sunlight can enhance the body's production of vitamin D, thereby promoting calcium metabolism.
