What causes vomiting after a meal?

Patient's question:

The baby just turned two years old. Since childhood, they couldn't take medicine; if given, they would vomit it all out. Now things have improved somewhat, but at over one year old, they have started eating rice. Often, without any fever or other conditions, they experience dry heaving accompanied by a very strong sour smell. Up to this point, they still drool...

Doctor's answer:

It could be related to gastrointestinal absorption, but a check-up is necessary. Go to the hospital. You can try giving him some liquid food to see how he reacts. Avoid heavy oil and things that are too disgusting, like fish. Although it's a good thing, some children might not want to admit they dislike it! Don't let him run around or move excessively during dinner. Drink plain water immediately after eating. This advice is for the question "What causes nausea during or after dinner?" I hope it helps you. Wishing you good health!
