Features: Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the state has been very concerned about the study of history, but limited by financial constraints, it has been difficult to support projects comprehensively. We are a group of middle-aged and young scholars dedicated to the study of Eastern history. In light of this, several years ago, we self-funded the establishment of a private research institution, which is now the Center for Eastern History Research of the Chinese Society for History. In the early stages of our establishment, our main focus was on preliminary research discussions. However, realizing the limitations of our research capabilities, we decided to use self-raised funds to establish the "Eastern History Research Publication Fund" to support the publication of outstanding research achievements on Eastern history. Wu Yanhong's monograph conducts a multi-level, dynamic study of Ming Dynasty penal regulations and penal transportation. It provides an in-depth discussion of the Ming Dynasty's penal system, the relationship between penal transportation and Ming military governance, and is currently the most comprehensive, systematic, and in-depth research on the issue of penal transportation in the Ming Dynasty. In the history of ancient China, the law and military system of the Ming Dynasty were unique, and many issues require further research. Penal transportation, which is closely related to them, is one of the important topics. This book is one of the few works in the world dedicated to the study of penal transportation in the Ming Dynasty. The author's courage in pioneering and innovating in academia is self-evident.
